Variety of program with focal point “nature”
Main topic at Wurzl’14 is generally the responsible reatment of ressources. Based on that, the three age division-subcamps provide a programme appropriate to age. Besides mutual activities of all age divisions, big events – like the opening ceremony, the visitor’s day and the closing ceremony – and one day just for your scout troop, there are of course, according to age, different highlights.
Dear Wurzl – participants,
After many meetings we have put together a great and varieous program for the Wurzl’14. There are interesting and informative workshops and walks, overnight-stays outside oft he camp, night-action-games and two-day tours. According to our ” Wurzl ” motto, we have created a very nature-near and extensive program. Much will be familiar, some new, some interesting , another exhausting – but on such a camp you can even really try things in a protected environment and with motivated workers, and to take your time and make the effort, you and the workshop, to make the tours „tasty“. We (especially the program-team) want you to have fun and that you learn at your camp program which can be selected by yourself fort he most parts. Maybe you learn to know your limits.
GuSp-program (10-13 years)
For two workshop days you can you choose from an extensive list of workshops which reach from Apiculture over waterwheel for power generation , to creative workshops like makeing jewelery , soaps, building clay ovens, making whips, offer many interesting things.
Furthermore, there is a whole day a ” Wurzl – adventure day ” where you dive into a story and you will experience a lot and have to survive adventures .
Even a GWB („St. George’s competition“) will be held on one of these days and you can measure in the scouts-technique with other groups and show your skills if you work together.
CaEx –program (13-16 years)
Your step program is split up in four parts: a workshop day, a ” good- deed – day ” and a two-day hike with an overnight stay , which takes place outside of the campsite . Beautiful two-day hikes, to which will lead you through the Gastein Valley and the neighboring mountains , but also partly in the beautiful Pinzgau and beautiful pastures. In some cases you will also fulfill one or more program points during these walks, such as makeing butter, fishing and preparing your own fish and eat or cook with wild herbs dishes on an open fire and make your own ” Wurzllagerteller ” of wood .
On ” Good – deed – day ” you will help a day in the area in social institutions and support social projects with your help. Let yourself be surprised! Each project is exciting in its own way , interesting and very instructive.
On your workshop day you can sign up yourself for a workshop , which is either to connect with another half day workshop , or even can take a whole day . From creative jewelry yourself , creating campsite-buildings and a private camp-playground built by yourself there are still many other workshops that let you be sure the day is too short .
RaRo-program (16-20 years)
In your age group there are many outdoor tours that are partially one day , but also with the possibility of two days . Many walks and hikes are enriched with various program points , how to build your own sweat lodge for example and visit a cave. One evening in the week there will be an ” Unplugged Evening” where the stage is reserved for you and you you can offer each other a nice evening program. Also there is a separate culture and traditional clubbing and also a RaRo contemporary night -time adventure you can not miss ! An own band , which consists of your music loving Raros is to help shape this musical evenings atmospheric and age appropriate . So you can already be sure that your instruments shall not be at home. So tune your instrument right now and warm up!
Your workshops include topics such as forging , geocaching, raft-building , climbing, building a sweat lodge , photo workshop , archery, etc.
During program days there will be for all Raros there a continuous “Waste -Contest . During your walks you shall remove ” rubbish and waste ,” leave the way the other hikers or visitors , collect and take it with you in your own bags. At the camp there will be a ” RaRo -waste collection point ” , where your bags, will be stacked and finally weighed . How much garbage and waste is on our sidewalks and streets , which was simply thrown away and “forgotten” was ? We scouts can point out and leave an environmental footprint in the Gastein Valley , as we turn our attention to this “phenomenon” and once look closely and together help to draw attention to this problem. What is the saying ? ” Many hands make a quick end ” ! ( Quote: Wolfi Mittasch , outdoor team )
Yours in „rooting“
